The Great Iceland Trek for Pendleside Hospice

October 9 @ 08:00 - October 14 @ 17:00

Discover active volcanoes and vast lava fields, bubbling mud pools, hot springs and more whilst raising much needed funds in aid of Pendleside Hospice!

We will be hiking to Iceland’s youngest volcano, Gelgingaldir and neighbouring Fagradaslsfjall before exploring the ethereal peaks of the Mount Hengill heritage site – scaling the impressive Vörðuskeggi Peak with spectacular views over Lake Þingvellir, and Eyjafjallajökull and the distant Westman Islands. Our adventures will also see us trek along the fault lines between Europe and America.

Don’t forget to keep your eyes to the skies while you are there and you might be lucky enough to experience Lady Aurora herself!

This trek is graded moderate to challenging. You will be trekking long distances over varying terrain over consecutive days. This is not a tourist hike and you will need to train to take part. Minimum age 18 years old.

The trip is 6 days in total- 9th-14th October 2025.
